I had the pleasure of photographing at The Fish Market in North Kingstown yesterday, for a website upgrade. Their kitchen really knows how to make a meal come out looking spectacular. It’s a lovely surprise, when you pull up to the restaurant it’s in a tiny strip mall, but when you enter, it’s a classy restaurant that brings beautiful food and cocktails to it’s tables.

Sundowner Cocktails in Newport

Pickin’ Lettuce at the Simmons Farm in Portsmouth, RI

Picking red leaf lettuce at the Simmons Farm

I visited the Simmons Farm in Portsmouth, Ri early this morning and found their crew getting lettuce and basil picked. Anyone out there part of the Simmons CSA or visit them at the Farmer’s Markets. The farm is tucked into a hillside that borders Narraganset bay. I’m sure it’s location contributes to yummy produce, all grown organically.

Monsters and Food Trucks in Providence, Ri.

Big Nazo Lab Monsters at storytelling at Burnside park in Providence, Ri.

Last week I had a fantastic shoot with the Providence Foundation. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the photoshoot as well as Joelle Kanter at the Providence Foundation for setting it all up. Participants were: Small Point Cafe, Kennedy Plaza, Tazza, Cafe Nuovo, The Peerless Lofts, as well as the food trucks mentioned below.

We started the day with storytime in Burnside park, the kids got to try on the Big Nazo costumes. So much fun and the kids had a ball.

Then we started running around town shooting the Providence Clean Teams (they’re the ones keeping Providence gorgeous) and the safe teams (they’re the ones keeping Providence safe and comfortable for visitor’s, they also know where all the good spots for dinner are).

We visited lots of place all over town and spent some time in restaurants, coffee shops, and even with some of the food trucks YUM!!! De Las Olas Tacos and Mama Kim’s Korean BBQ were some of our stops.

The day ended at the Beer Garden and Burnside park, with brews from Trinity Brewery and some great tunes from NOMO an Ann Arbor, Mi. group.

Farm Photos go Big

A selection of my agricultural and farm photography has been accepted into one of the leading stock agencies specializing in Agricultural stock images. Agstock USA. They have a new website coming down the pipeline and I’ll definitely share as soon as it’s live. I’m getting very antsy to get out to the farms this summer, corn and tomatoes here I come! If you know of any particularly photogenic farms in the New England area, I’d love to hear about them.

It’s been a busy spring at Marianne Photography, with lots of fun assignments and published pieces, check em’ out:

The Dacha story for Newport Life Home and Lifestyles was an amazing shoot of an amazing cottage, that belongs to an amazing couple. I used to have an art history professor who was German and she would descibe something called Gesampkunstwerk, meaning – a total work of art. That’s how I felt about the Dacha photography from beginning to end. Everything came together so well.

The January issue of Newport Life featured a woman who truly deserved a little pampering. We’ll call her Miss January. It was such a priviledge to spend the day with her and see her get spoiled and pampered. Click the thumb for a PDF.
